Ingredients

  • 1 liter Everclear 190 proof or high-proof vodka
  • 1 cup MONK FRUIT Golden or Brown SUGAR
  • 2 cups water
  • 30 Root Beer Barrel Candies

Instructions

Dissolve the Candies:

  • In a large, sealable glass jar, add the Root Beer Barrel candies. Pour the Everclear or high-proof vodka over the candies.
  • Seal the jar tightly and let it sit at room temperature. Shake the jar every few hours until the candies are completely dissolved. This process can take several hours to overnight.

Prepare the Syrup:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Do not let the mixture boil.
  • Remove the syrup from heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Combine and Mix:

  • Once the candies are dissolved and the syrup is cooled, pour the syrup into the jar with the candy-infused alcohol. Stir well to combine.
  • Add Brown Food Coloring (Optional):

Strain and Bottle:

  • Use a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a large bowl or pitcher, removing any remaining candy residue.
  • Use a funnel to pour the strained moonshine into clean glass bottles or jars. Seal them tightly.

Age the Moonshine:

  • Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for at least a week to allow the flavors to meld. Shake the bottles gently every few days.

Serve:

  • Serve the Root Beer Barrel moonshine chilled or at room temperature. It can be enjoyed on its own or used as a mixer in cocktails.

Storage:

  • The moonshine can be stored in the refrigerator or a cool, dark place for several months. Shake well before serving.
  • Enjoy your fun and flavorful Root Beer Barrel Moonshine responsibly, and share it with friends for a nostalgic treat!
